# How to Get Honey in Palworld

Most people looking for honey in Palworld are really looking for **Cake**, because Cake is what the Breeding Farm runs on and every Cake needs 2 Honey. The direct answer: **put a Beegarde in a Ranch.** That is the only permanent honey supply in the game, and everything else — killing Elizabee, farming Warsect — is a stopgap.

> [!TIP] One Beegarde in a Ranch solves honey forever
> Beegarde's partner skill, *Worker Bee*, produces Honey when it is assigned to a Ranch. Output scales with Ranch level: 1 Honey per cycle at level 1, rising to 3–10 at level 10. The Ranch itself unlocks at **Technology Level 5** and costs 30 Wood, 20 Stone and 30 Fiber, so you can have a honey supply long before you need one.

## Where to Find Beegarde and Elizabee

Beegarde and Elizabee share the same corner of the map — the Verdant Stream area east of the starting region.

| Pal | Honey per kill | Where | Level |
|---|---|---|---|
| Elizabee | 5 | Field boss, **164, -84** (Verdant Stream Watchtower) | 39 |
| Warsect / Warsect Terra | 3–4 | Forest and Feybreak; Warsect Terra field boss at **-1019, -1236** | 34–64 |
| Beegarde | 1–2 | Around the Elizabee arena at **164, -84**; also Mountain Stream Grotto | 20–34 |
| Cinnamoth | 1 | Grassland flower meadows; Mountain Stream Grotto | 16–29 |

**Elizabee is the single best kill**, at 5 Honey, and the fight conveniently also gives you Beegarde — they spawn alongside her. Capture one or two, and you have your Ranch worker and never need to come back.

If you are below level 30, **Mountain Stream Grotto** is the practical route. It is a dungeon that spawns both Beegarde (Lv. 20–23) and Cinnamoth (Lv. 22–29), so you can pick up a Beegarde well before the Elizabee fight is survivable.

> [!NOTE] Beegarde is worth capturing, not killing
> A dead Beegarde gives you 1–2 Honey. A captured Beegarde in a Ranch gives you honey indefinitely. Bring spheres.

## What Honey Is Used For

| Recipe | Honey cost | Unlock |
|---|---|---|
| Cake | 2 Honey + 5 Flour + 8 Red Berries + 7 Milk + 8 Egg | Base recipe |
| Mushroom Cake | 2 Honey + 5 Flour + 5 Mushroom + 3 Cavern Mushroom + 8 Egg | Technology Lv. 30 |
| Vegetable Cake | 4 Honey + 8 Flour + 8 Tomato + 7 Lettuce + 8 Egg | Technology Lv. 47 |
| Elizabee's Staff | 1 Honey + 1 Wood | — |
| Beegarde's Spear | 1 Honey + 1 Wood | — |
| Warsect Terra's Belt | 20 Honey + 40 Refined Ingot + 35 Paldium Fragment + 30 Ancient Lava | Warsect Terra's Belt Schematic |

**Cake is the reason honey matters.** The Breeding Farm consumes one Cake per egg, and Cake is a five-ingredient recipe with a 2,000 work cost — honey is usually the ingredient people run out of first, because the other four (Flour, Red Berries, Milk, Egg) all come from farm plots and ranches you already have.

Honey is also a decent field food in its own right: 10 nutrition, **+3 SAN**, and a weight of just 0.2. And unlike almost every other food item in Palworld, **honey never spoils** — it has no corruption timer at all, so a chest of it stays good indefinitely.

## The Efficient Honey Setup

1. **Build a Ranch** (Technology Lv. 5). It holds up to four workers.
2. **Capture two or three Beegarde** at the Verdant Stream Watchtower area, or in Mountain Stream Grotto if you are lower level.
3. **Assign them to the Ranch** and leave them. Beegarde has **Farming Lv. 3**, so it will pick the Ranch on its own.
4. **Build the rest of the Cake chain nearby** — a Wheat Plantation for Flour, a Berry Plantation, a Mozzarina and a Chikipi in their own Ranch. Cake is the bottleneck, not honey specifically.
5. **Level the Ranch.** Output roughly scales with level, from 1 Honey up to 3–10 per cycle.

> [!IMPORTANT] Ranch throughput depends on Pal work speed, not just Ranch level
> A Ranch runs on the Pals inside it. Four Beegarde produce roughly four times what one does, and passives that raise Work Speed apply. If your honey is trickling in, check how many workers the Ranch actually has assigned before assuming something is broken.

## Server Angle: Ranch Speed Is a Setting

This is one of the few resources where a dedicated server has a dial that maps exactly onto the problem. `PalWorldSettings.ini` contains **`MonsterFarmActionSpeedRate`** — "production speed at Pal ranches," default `1.000000`. (The name is the internal one; the Ranch structure's code name in the game data is `MonsterFarm`.) Raising it to `2.000000` genuinely doubles the rate every Ranch produces at, honey included.

Two others are relevant if honey is really a breeding problem in disguise:

- **`EnemyDropItemRate`** — multiplies the 5 Honey Elizabee drops, and everything else Pals drop.
- **`PalEggDefaultHatchingTime`** — base incubation time in hours. Lowering it means each Cake buys a hatch sooner.

All three are documented with defaults and value types in [Palworld Dedicated Server World Settings Explained](/knowledge-base/palworld/world-settings/). They are only editable on a server whose config file you control, which is the honest case for a [dedicated Palworld server](/games/palworld/) over a co-op world.

## Common Questions

### How do you get honey in Palworld?

Put a Beegarde in a Ranch. That is the only renewable source. You can also kill Elizabee (5 Honey), Warsect (3–4), Beegarde (1–2) or Cinnamoth (1).

### Which Pal makes honey in a Ranch?

Beegarde, via its *Worker Bee* partner skill. No other Pal produces Honey at a Ranch.

### Where is Elizabee in Palworld?

Elizabee is a level 39 field boss at **164, -84**, by the Verdant Stream Watchtower. Beegarde spawn in the same area, which makes it a single trip for both the honey and the Ranch worker.

### What is honey used for in Palworld?

Cake, Mushroom Cake and Vegetable Cake — and Cake is what the Breeding Farm consumes per egg. It also goes into Elizabee's Staff, Beegarde's Spear and Warsect Terra's Belt, and works as a light field food at +3 SAN.

### Does honey spoil in Palworld?

No. Honey has no corruption timer, so it keeps indefinitely in a chest or a Food Box.
