# Palworld Venom Gland: Where to Farm It

Venom Gland looks like an early-game curiosity — it shows up at Technology Level 8 for Poison Arrows and then seems to disappear. It doesn't. It comes back at Technology Level 37 as **Corrosive Solvent**, which gates the Katana, the Pal Metal tools and the Thermal Core. The fastest fix for both is the same one: **put a Depresso in a Ranch.**

> [!TIP] Two Pals produce Venom Gland in a Ranch
> **Depresso** (*Caffeine Inoculation*) and **Caprity Noct** (*Venom Picker*) both generate Venom Gland when assigned to a Ranch — 1 per cycle at Ranch level 1, rising to 3–10 at level 10. Depresso is the easier of the two to get: it spawns at levels 4–7 in the starting grasslands, long before anything else on this page is relevant.

## Where to Find Venom Gland

Venom Gland drops at **100% probability** from every poison and dark Pal on this list. Quantity is the only thing that varies.

| Pal | Venom Gland per kill | Where | Level |
|---|---|---|---|
| Menasting | 5–10 | Field boss, **350, 537** (Sandstone Plateau Watchtower) | 44 |
| Shroomer Noct | 4–8 | Sakurajima | 40+ |
| Prixter | 4–5 | Feybreak | 50+ |
| Dandilord | 4–5 | Later regions | 50+ |
| Tarantriss | 2–5 | Field boss, **-343, -252** | 35 |
| Killamari / Ghangler / Croajiro Noct | 2–4 | Coastal and night spawns | 15–40 |
| Depresso | 2–3 | Islandhopper Coast, **178, -299**; starting grasslands | 4–16 |
| Carnibora / Venusa | 2–3 | Forest | 30+ |
| Cawgnito / Loomen | 2 | Night spawns | 20+ |
| Caprity Noct | 1 | Dungeon boss, **-147, -659** (Sea Breeze Archipelago) | 23 |
| Daedream / Needoll Noct | 1 | Common night spawns | 10+ |

**Menasting is the best single target by a wide margin** at 5–10 per kill, and there is a fixed level 44 field boss at 350, 537 in the desert. A second Menasting Terra field boss sits at **-582, 317**.

If you need glands *now* and cannot fight a level 44 scorpion, **Depresso** is the answer. It is a common level 4–7 spawn in the grassland around the starting area, drops 2–3 each, and is the Pal you want in the Ranch anyway.

> [!NOTE] You can just buy it
> Venom Gland costs **300 Gold** from Wandering Merchants at the Small Settlement, and from caravan and dungeon merchants. For the 75 glands a set of Depresso Armor needs, that is 22,500 Gold — often cheaper than the evening it would take to farm them.

## What Venom Gland Is Used For

| Recipe | Venom Gland cost | Unlock |
|---|---|---|
| Poison Arrow (x10) | 1 + 2 Wood + 2 Stone | Technology Lv. 8 |
| Antique Carpet | 1 + 3 Cloth | Technology Lv. 9 |
| Poison Bow | 2 + 40 Wood + 8 Stone + 20 Fiber | — |
| Poison Arrow Crossbow | 5 + 50 Wood + 50 Stone + 15 Ingot + 3 Nail | — |
| Killamari's Gloves | 5 + 5 Cloth + 10 Paldium Fragment | — |
| **Corrosive Solvent** | **1 + 1 Sulfur** | **Technology Lv. 37** |
| Ring of Dark Resistance | 10 + 20 Ingot + 20 Bone + 30 Paldium Fragment | Ring schematic |
| Depresso Helmet | 25 + 5 High Quality Cloth | — |
| Tarantriss Saddle | 30 + 30 Leather + 50 Fiber + 40 Paldium Fragment | Technology Lv. 20 |
| Depresso Armor | 75 + 15 High Quality Cloth | — |
| Frostallion Noct Saddle | 72 + 43 Leather + 43 Coralum Ingot + 96 Paldium Fragment | Technology Lv. 62 |

**Corrosive Solvent is the recipe that matters.** One Venom Gland plus one Sulfur produces one Solvent, and Solvent feeds the Katana (3 per craft), the Pal Metal Axe and Pal Metal Pickaxe (5 each), the Meteor Launcher (5) and the Thermal Core (2). If you are wondering why a mid-game player suddenly needs hundreds of Venom Glands, this is why.

The two saddles are the other large sink: 30 for a Tarantriss Saddle and 72 for a Frostallion Noct Saddle.

## The Efficient Setup

1. **Catch two or three Depresso** in the starting grasslands. They are level 4–7 and trivially easy.
2. **Build a Ranch** (Technology Lv. 5, 30 Wood + 20 Stone + 30 Fiber). It takes up to four workers.
3. **Assign the Depresso.** They carry the Farming work suitability, so they will take the job without prompting.
4. **Add a Caprity Noct later** if you want a second producer — the Lv. 23 dungeon boss at -147, -659 is a reasonable mid-game capture.
5. **Farm Menasting only when you need a burst.** 5–10 per kill covers a saddle in a few runs; the Ranch covers the steady drip.

**Hard Feybreak expeditions** also return 10–20 Venom Gland per successful run, which is the closest thing to free once the Expedition Station is up.

> [!WARNING] Depresso Armor is a trap for the unprepared
> 75 Venom Glands is a lot at the level where Depresso Armor becomes available. Work out whether you actually want it before you commit the glands — those same 75 would make 75 Corrosive Solvent, which is enough for fifteen Pal Metal Pickaxes.

## Server Angle

Venom Gland comes from two systems, and a dedicated server has a dial for each. In `PalWorldSettings.ini`:

- **`MonsterFarmActionSpeedRate`** — production speed at Pal ranches, default `1.000000`. This is the one that directly multiplies your Depresso output.
- **`EnemyDropItemRate`** — multiplies what Pals drop when defeated, so it scales the 5–10 from a Menasting kill.

Both are listed with their defaults and value types in [Palworld Dedicated Server World Settings Explained](/knowledge-base/palworld/world-settings/), along with the formatting rules that will silently void the whole config block if you get a space or a bracket wrong. They are only yours to change on a server you run — which is the honest argument for a [Palworld dedicated server](/games/palworld/) over a hosted co-op world.

## Common Questions

### What Pal gives Venom Gland in a Ranch?

Depresso and Caprity Noct. Depresso is easier to obtain — it spawns at levels 4–7 in the starting grasslands.

### What is the fastest way to farm Venom Gland?

Kill Menasting. It drops 5–10 at 100%, and there is a fixed level 44 field boss at 350, 537 in the desert. Shroomer Noct (4–8) is the next best.

### Where do I find Venom Gland early in Palworld?

Depresso and Daedream both spawn in the starting region and drop it. Depresso gives 2–3 per kill; Daedream gives 1.

### What is Venom Gland used for?

Poison Arrows and the Poison Bow early, then **Corrosive Solvent** from Technology Level 37 — which the Katana, Pal Metal Axe, Pal Metal Pickaxe, Meteor Launcher and Thermal Core all require. Also the Tarantriss and Frostallion Noct saddles and the Depresso armour set.

### Can you buy Venom Gland?

Yes, 300 Gold each from Wandering Merchants at the Small Settlement and from caravan and dungeon merchants.
