Installing Mods on Conan Exiles

This guide covers installing mods on your Conan Exiles server. For first boot and connecting, see Getting Started.

Conan Exiles has a strong workshop at steamcommunity.com/app/440900/workshop/.

Step 1: Subscribe and Find IDs

For each mod, note the Workshop ID from the URL.

Step 2: Upload Mods

Conan Exiles mods are .pak files. The simplest install path:

  1. Subscribe to the mod in your local Steam.
  2. Find the mod files at Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\440900\<WorkshopID>\.
  3. Upload the .pak file to your server's ConanSandbox/Mods/ folder via SFTP.

Step 3: Add to modlist.txt

Create or edit ConanSandbox/Mods/modlist.txt:

Code
*\ConanSandbox\Mods\Pippi.pak
*\ConanSandbox\Mods\LBPR.pak
*\ConanSandbox\Mods\AgeOfCalamitous.pak

The order matters; some mods need to load before others. The mod authors usually document the recommended order.

Step 4: Restart

The server loads mods on boot. Players must subscribe to the same mods on their client.

  • Pippi: All-in-one admin and roleplay tool. Currency system, GUI, custom server commands. Almost universally installed
  • Less Building Placement Restrictions (LBPR): Removes placement restrictions
  • Age of Calamitous: Massive medieval-themed content overhaul
  • Emberlight: Adds new weapons and items
  • Endgame Extended Weapon Arsenal (EEWA): Adds endgame content
  • Hosav's Custom UI: Better UI
  • Improved Quality of Life: General QoL tweaks
  • Tot! Better Map: Improved map and waypoints
  • Stack Sizes Increased: Larger item stacks
  • Better Thralls: Thrall management improvements
