Sons of the Forest Item IDs: All 308 Items and How to Spawn Them

Sons of the Forest item IDs are the numbers you pass to the additem cheat: additem 403 gives you rope, additem 640 gives you stone. The current game build has 308 items, not the 350-odd you'll find on most lists. Older lists include debug and unused IDs that the game no longer has. The table below comes from the item database of the current Steam build (public build 20228174, the October 2025 update, which is still the latest). We cross-checked every ID against the item identifiers in RedLoader's source and found no mismatches.

This page covers three things: the full ID list, the commands that use the IDs, and how spawning works on a dedicated server. The short version on servers: there's no admin "give" command. The server can only allow or block the cheat console, and each player spawns items for themselves.

How to spawn an item by ID

The item commands run in the game's cheat console. In single-player:

1. Load your world and make sure the game isn't paused.
2. Type cheatstick straight into the game. It isn't typed into a text box, and nothing appears on screen when you type it.
3. Press F1 to open the console.
4. Type additem 403 and press Enter.

The console only accepts cheatstick from a US keyboard layout. If F1 does nothing, switch Windows to the US layout and type it again. Sons of the Forest Cheats and Console Commands covers the console itself in more detail.

Use the number, not the name. Both commands accept a name too, but display names repeat: there are three items called "9mm Ammo", for example (362 is loose rounds, 370 is a box). Internal names don't always match what the game shows either. The pistol's internal name is CompactPistol, and the only log item is Log_Legacy. An ID always points to exactly one item.

Stack limits cap what you can hold

additem 78 gives you one log, and you can only carry two. Ammo tops out at 1,000, stones at 4 and rope at 10. The Max stack column in the tables shows the limit for each item. Repeating a command once you've hit the limit does nothing.

Spawning items on a dedicated server

A dedicated server has no command that puts items into a player's inventory. The item commands above run on each player's own game, not on the server. What the server controls is whether players may open the cheat console at all. That setting has been in the game since Patch 10: when it's off, players can't use the console, and when it's on, every player can.

On a GSK Sons of the Forest server that setting lives in the server's config file:

1. In the panel, stop the server and open Files > serverconfig/dedicatedserver.cfg. The file sits in the serverconfig folder, not in the server root, because the startup command points the game's user-data path there.
2. Find the CustomGameModeSettings block and add the cheats setting at the top:

3. In Startup, set Gamemode to custom. The startup command passes this variable to the game on every boot, so the GameMode line inside the file isn't the one that counts.
4. Start the server. Each player then types cheatstick in the chat box (press Enter to open chat first), presses F1, and runs additem for themselves.

Settings may be locked into an existing world

Endnight saves game-setup options with the world, and the panel's Gamemode variable only applies when a new save is created. If cheats stay blocked on a world you're already playing, the world is still using the options it was created with. Start a fresh save slot (change Save Slot in Startup) to test it. We haven't tested these steps on one of our servers yet, so contact support if players still can't open the console. Take a backup before you change anything.

It's all players or none

Once cheats are allowed, every connected player can use additem, addallitems, godmode and the rest, and nothing records who spawned what. Keep the setting on only for friends-only servers with a password.

The spawnitem column shows whether the game allows spawnitem to drop that item. additem may still work for some of the "no" items, but not all of them. Items marked ¹ were added after March 2024, and we could confirm them from only one data source.

Why an ID from another list doesn't work

If you install the RedLoader mod loader on your own PC, it adds a dump items console command. That command writes an items.txt file of every item into your game folder, which is the quickest way to check an ID yourself after a future patch.
