Windrose Console Commands and Cheats: What Actually Works
Windrose has no console or cheat commands. What the world settings, cheat mods and Windrose+ admin commands can do, and what works on a hosted server.
If you're looking for Windrose console commands or cheats, the game doesn't have them. As of version 0.10.0.9, the Early Access build gives players no developer console, the dedicated server has no admin commands, and none of the developer's patch notes or guides document a cheat code. Commands you find online come from one of three places: a community mod, Unreal Engine names copied from other games, or the Windrose+ server framework.
This page covers what you can actually change, which mods add commands or cheats, and what works on a hosted server. If you only want easier combat or cheaper crafting, the native world settings are usually enough, and they don't risk your save.
What Windrose Actually Ships With
- No in-game console. Unreal Engine's developer console is disabled in the shipping build. A community "console enabler" exists (below), but it predates Early Access.
- No admin commands. The dedicated server has no RCON, kick, ban or teleport command. PC Gamer's server guide was headlined "Windrose doesn't have admin commands". The best-known server mod describes itself as adding "an admin console" the server is otherwise missing.
- No console input on the server. The server window only shows log output. The developer's own guide says to shut the server down by closing its window, not by typing a command. On our panel the Console tab shows that same log, so typing into it does nothing.
- One in-game helper: Unstuck. Patch 0.10.0.6 fixed "the Unstuck command" becoming unavailable while controlling a ship battery. It's an in-game menu action for freeing a stuck character, not a typed command.
The Cheat-Free Settings You Already Have
Most "cheat" searches are really "make it easier". Windrose handles that per world in WorldDescription.json, which the developer supports:
| Parameter | Default | Range | What it does |
|---|---|---|---|
CombatDifficulty |
Normal | Easy / Normal / Hard | Boss difficulty and general enemy aggression |
MobHealthMultiplier |
1.0 | 0.2–5.0 | Enemy health |
MobDamageMultiplier |
1.0 | 0.2–5.0 | Enemy damage |
ShipsHealthMultiplier |
1.0 | 0.4–5.0 | Enemy ship health |
ShipsDamageMultiplier |
1.0 | 0.2–2.5 | Enemy ship damage |
BoardingDifficultyMultiplier |
1.0 | 0.2–5.0 | How many enemy sailors you must defeat to win a boarding |
Coop.StatsCorrectionModifier |
1.0 | 0.0–2.0 | How much enemy health and posture scale with player count |
Coop.SharedQuests |
true | true / false | A co-op quest one player completes auto-completes for everyone who has it |
Setting CombatDifficulty to Easy with MobHealthMultiplier at 0.2 is the closest thing to god mode the game supports officially.
EasyExploredoes the opposite of its nameThe developer's guide explains that
EasyExploreis a legacy name. The in-game label is "Immersive exploration", and setting it totrueremoves the map markers for points of interest, which makes exploring harder. Leave itfalseif you want an easier game. The file format is unusual (tagged JSON keys), and edits need the developer'sR5WorldDescriptionUpdater.exe. Both are covered in Windrose world settings.
What the native settings can't change: experience, loot, harvest yield, crafting cost or stack size. For those you need mods.
Mods That Add Cheats
These are community mods. The developer's FAQ says mods are used "at your own discretion", recommends backing up your save folder first, and says the team can't investigate problems that happen with mods installed.
| Mod | Type | What it gives you | Where it runs |
|---|---|---|---|
| Windrose Cheat Suite (Nexus Mods) | UE4SS script | F9 toggles infinite health and stamina, heavy armour and damage boosts, one-shot ship sinking, no cannon damage to your ship, optional free build | Solo: your game folder. Multiplayer: UE4SS and the mod on the client and on the server |
| Simple Mod Loader And Console Enabler (Nexus Mods) | Blueprint loader | Re-enables the Unreal dev console | Client. Last updated 4 March 2026, during the demo and before Early Access (14 April), so expect it not to work on 0.10.x |
| PAK mods such as bigger stacks and bigger inventory (CurseForge, Nexus) | .pak / .utoc / .ucas |
Changes game data rather than adding commands | Depends on the mod. PAK files go in R5/Content/Paks/~mods/ |
Inventory mods write into your character save
Stack-size and inventory-size edits can become part of a character's saved state once that character logs in. Some bigger-inventory versions require a new character. Back up
%LOCALAPPDATA%\R5\Saved\SaveProfiles\before trying them.
Third-party trainers and Cheat Engine tables work by editing your game's memory. They only affect your own client, they break on each patch, and running them while connected to someone else's server is the quickest way to get banned by that server's owner. We don't recommend them.
Windrose+ Admin Commands
Windrose+ is the open-source server framework most "Windrose console commands" lists are copied from. It runs through UE4SS on the dedicated server and adds an RCON console with about 40 commands, all prefixed wp.. From its source code (v1.3.17), the useful ones:
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
wp.help [command] |
List commands, or show usage for one |
wp.players / wp.playerinfo [player] |
Online players with positions / one player's vitals, stats and progression |
wp.kick <player> [reason] |
Kick a player |
wp.ban <player> [reason] / wp.unban <player> / wp.listbans |
Ban management |
wp.tp [player] <x> <y> [z] |
Teleport a player to world coordinates |
wp.pos [player] |
Player coordinates, useful before wp.tp |
wp.speed, wp.jump, wp.gravity [player] <multiplier> |
Movement speed, jump height and gravity |
wp.status, wp.multipliers, wp.config, wp.reload |
Show server state and multipliers, reload config |
wp.perf, wp.memory, wp.entities, wp.creatures |
Performance and lag diagnosis |
Even with Windrose+ there's no command to give yourself items or god mode. wp.givestats only records a compensation note. Item and resource changes come from its multipliers (xp, loot, harvest_yield, craft_efficiency, cooking_speed) instead.
Windrose+ doesn't run on a hosted Windrose server, including ours
Windrose+ is Windows-only. It installs with a PowerShell script, needs the server started as Administrator through its own launcher, and depends on UE4SS, which is also reported to crash Windrose dedicated servers. Our Windrose servers run the Windows server build under Wine on Linux and start
WindroseServer-Win64-Shipping.exedirectly. The full explanation is in Configuring Windrose+.
What You Can Do on a GameServerKings Windrose Server
| You want | Do this |
|---|---|
| Easier or harder fights | Edit the world's WorldDescription.json (Windrose world settings) |
| Keep strangers out | Startup tab: set Server Password and turn on Password Protected, or rotate the Invite code |
| Remove a griefer | Change the password or invite code and restart. There's no kick command |
| A fresh world, or switch worlds | Change WorldIslandId (Managing your Windrose worlds) |
| Bigger stacks or other gameplay changes | PAK mods, installed server-side |
The Startup tab rewrites the server name, password, invite code, max players and direct-connection fields in ServerDescription.json on every boot, so change those in the panel, not in the file. See Configuring your Windrose server.
FAQ
How do I open the console in Windrose?
You can't in the current build. The Unreal console is disabled, and the only community enabler was made for the demo and hasn't been updated since March 2026.
Are there Windrose admin commands for my dedicated server?
Not natively. Windrose+ adds wp. commands over RCON, but it needs a Windows server you control with Administrator rights. On a hosted server, you moderate with the password and invite code.
Can I spawn items in Windrose?
Not with a command. Neither the base game nor Windrose+ has an item-give command. The Cheat Suite's free-build option and inventory PAK mods are the nearest equivalents, and both change your save.
Do cheat mods disable achievements?
The developer hasn't said. Assume anything that edits your character can follow that character into multiplayer and back.
