Rust Raid Calculator

Pick what stands between you and the loot — walls by tier, doors, windows, turrets — and see how many C4, rockets, satchels, explosive ammo or molotovs each option takes, the cheapest mix by sulfur, and the full crafting bill. Every number is worked out from the current Rust server files, not copied from an old chart.

What are you raiding?

Walls, floors and foundations

Doorways, window walls, half and low walls, wall frames, floors and foundations have the same health as a full wall of the same tier.

Explo ammo assumes an Assault Rifle inside 20 m. Molotovs are a best case — every flame burning against the target — so bring spares.

Why the numbers are what they are

Every count here comes from the server's own damage and protection values, run through the same sums the server does. These are the rules that decide them.

  1. 1

Protection is a percentage per damage type

Each explosive deals a mix of damage types, and every target ignores a set fraction of each. Stone and metal ignore half of all explosion damage, so a 550-damage C4 does 275 to a stone wall: two charges for its 500 HP, four for a 1,000 HP sheet metal wall, eight for a 2,000 HP armored one.

  2. 2

Wooden doors take double explosion damage

A wooden door has an explosion protection of -100%, so explosions hurt it twice as hard. One rocket or one C4 is always enough, and so is a lot less: two satchels or 18 rounds of explo ammo.

  3. 3

Rockets and explo care which side you hit

Walls, doors and hatches carry an extra shell on their outside face that shaves blunt, stab and bullet damage. Rockets, beancans and bullets record where they came from and get that penalty from outside; a C4 or satchel stuck to the target does not. That is why a stone wall takes 64 beancans from outside and 46 from inside, while C4 and satchel counts never change.

  4. 4

    Satchels and beancans can dud

A satchel has a 20% chance and a beancan a 15% chance to fizzle instead of exploding. A dud is not wasted — pick it up or relight it — but budget time for it. The counts above assume each one goes off.

  5. 5

    Fire only works on wood

A molotov splashes 35 heat and drops five small fires that each burn for 15 to 20 seconds. Stone, metal and armored pieces are fully immune to heat, so molotovs only open wooden doors, wooden walls and the like. The count assumes every flame sits against the target, which is why it is a range and why you should carry one extra.

  6. 6

    Numbers change with updates

This data is from the server build of 22 September 2026. Facepunch retunes explosives with monthly updates, usually on the first Thursday of the month, and we re-run the extraction after each one.

Where the data comes from

Health, protection, explosive damage and crafting recipes are read straight from the Rust dedicated server files (Steam app 258550, public branch, build of 22 September 2026, network protocol 2633.288.1) — the prefab and item data the game itself loads — and the damage rules are taken from the same build's server code. Nothing is copied from a community chart. Sulfur totals count gunpowder at 2 sulfur and 3 charcoal each and do not round up to full crafting batches.

Practise the raid on your own server.

Run a Rust server you control — test a raid path, try base designs against real explosives, then wipe it whenever you like. Instant setup, NVMe storage and DDoS protection.
