Myth of Empires Cheats: GM Commands for Private Servers

Myth of Empires cheats are GM (game master) commands. You type them into the console with the word cheat in front, and they only work for an account the server lists as a GM: on your own private or custom server, or in solo and hosted modes. They spawn items and animals, teleport players, change the time and save the world. They do nothing on official servers. Third-party cheat programs are a different thing entirely: Angela Game bans those permanently and adds the account to Steam's VAC ban list, and that ban applies to custom servers and solo mode as well.

This page shows how to make yourself a GM, then lists the commands we confirmed exist in the current server build. The command names come from the server's own files, not from the lists copied between sites since 2021.

The Myth of Empires dedicated server build on Steam as of 27 September 2026 (build 24215893). Official patch notes only document one GM command. The rest of this list comes from the command strings in the server itself, with usage examples from the community wiki.

Step 1: make yourself a GM

GM status comes from a list of Steam IDs that the server reads when it starts.

On a GameServerKings server: open Startup and put your 17-digit SteamID64 in Admin ID's. To add several GMs, separate the IDs with semicolons (;), the same format Angela Game's own server tool uses. Restart the server. The panel passes the list to the server at launch as -ServerAdminAccounts.

Self-hosting with the official tool: in PrivateServerTool.exe, go to Server Basic Settings > GM Accounts. The official setup guide says it "automatically retrieves Steam IDs of logged-in Steam accounts; use semicolons to add multiple GMs".

If you're not on the list, the server refuses cheat commands from you.

Step 2: open the console

Press the tilde key (~, above Tab) in-game. The community wiki notes that if it doesn't open, your Windows keyboard layout may need to be set to English (US). Type a command and press Enter. Capitalisation doesn't matter: cheat fly and Cheat Fly do the same thing.

The game also has a GM panel that runs these same commands for you, including an item list. Community guides say you reach it from the in-game menu (Esc). We haven't confirmed the exact menu labels in the current build, so they may differ from older guides.

We haven't confirmed whether <player> takes the character name or an account ID when you type one of these by hand, so the GM panel is the reliable way to run them.

World and server

Item and animal IDs: the numeric IDs you'll find in old lists come from the 2021 Early Access version and may have changed since. The GM panel's item list is the reliable source, and the patch notes refer to it as the "GM command list".

Cheats vs cheat programs: what gets you banned

GM commands are allowed on a server you run. Cheat programs (trainers, injectors, "mod menus") aren't allowed anywhere. Angela Game's policy since February 2024: accounts caught using them "will be added to the Steam platform VAC ban list, banned players will not be able to access the official server, custom server, and single/host mode." In March 2025 it added that confirmed cheaters face "a permanent ban with no exceptions."

Your GameServerKings server starts with the anti-cheat and VAC ban options switched on (-UseACE -EnableVACBan=1), so a trainer can get a player banned even on your private server.

Server settings that do the job better

Before you reach for cheat commands to fix the pace of your server, check what the Startup tab already controls:

The RCON Port, RCON Password and Shutdown Service fields exist so the server can shut down cleanly. The panel points that service at 127.0.0.1 (the server itself), so it isn't something you connect to from outside.

Troubleshooting

• Commands do nothing. You're not a GM. Check your SteamID64 is in Admin ID's (semicolons between IDs), then restart the server.
• The console won't open. Switch your Windows keyboard layout to English (US), then press ~ again.
• An item command gives the wrong item. The ID came from an old list. Use the GM panel's item list instead.
• A player says they were banned on your server for cheating. That's the game's anti-cheat, not a GM action. They'll need to take it up with Angela Game.
