Palworld Quartz Locations: Pure and Hexolite
Pure Quartz gates Circuit Boards and Pal Metal Ingots; Hexolite Quartz is Feybreak-only. Where both are, with coordinates, and which Pals can mine them.
There is no item in Palworld simply called "Quartz." There are two quartz materials, and which one you want depends entirely on how far into the game you are:
- Pure Quartz — the snow-field crystal that gates Circuit Boards and Pal Metal Ingots. Found in the Astral Mountains on the northern island.
- Hexolite Quartz — a Feybreak-only endgame crystal that feeds Hexolite. Found on Feybreak Island, nowhere else.
If you searched for "quartz location," you almost certainly want the first one. Both are covered below.
Both quartz types need Mining Lv. 3
A Pure Quartz rock has 6,000 HP and a Hexolite Quartz rock has 5,000, and both require Mining work suitability level 3 before a Pal will attempt them. Level 2 mining Pals ignore them completely. Both respawn on a 30-minute timer.
Where to Find Pure Quartz
Pure Quartz is concentrated across the snowfields north of the Foot of the Astral Mountains. These are the largest fields in the game data:
| Area | Coordinates | Nodes | Nearest fast travel |
|---|---|---|---|
| Abandoned Ruins basin | -174, 268 | 99 | Unthawable Lake |
| Garden Beneath the Astral Mountains | -385, 436 | 70 | Garden Beneath the Astral Mountains |
| Astral Mountains north | -291, 545 | 58 | Land of Absolute Zero |
| Pristine Snow Field | -318, 320 | 50 | Pristine Snow Field |
| Unthawable Lake east | -80, 318 | 42 | Unthawable Lake |
| Foot of the Astral Mountains | 45, 315 | 36 | Thawtide Cape |
| Astral Mountains high slopes | -177, 601 | 34 | Land of Absolute Zero |
| Astral Mountains mid | -243, 421 | 31 | Land of Absolute Zero |
| Isle of the Glacial Core approach | 100, 416 | 22 | Thawtide Cape |
The Abandoned Ruins basin at -174, 268 is the single best field in the game — 99 nodes in one area, nearly twice the next biggest. If you only visit one place for Pure Quartz, visit that one.
Bring cold resistance
Everything above is snow biome. Without Cold Resistant armour or a Kindling Pal in your party you will take continuous cold damage, and the Astral Mountains fields are also Lv. 35–50 territory.
Where to Find Hexolite Quartz
Hexolite Quartz exists only on Feybreak Island. Its in-game description is explicit: "A rare crystal found only in Feybreak. Over many years, Paldium has condensed and transformed, now shining with a rainbow-like glow."
| Area | Coordinates | Nodes | Nearest fast travel |
|---|---|---|---|
| Deserted Ash Plateau | -1295, -1222 | 19 | Oilfield Overlook |
| The Oculus Gate approach | -1177, -1352 | 19 | The Oculus Gate, Tower in Sight |
| Curved Redrock | -1181, -858 | 18 | Curved Redrock |
| Scorched Ashland | -845, -893 | 18 | Scorched Ashland |
| Deserted Ash Plateau west | -1364, -1046 | 17 | Deserted Ash Plateau |
| Frozen Coral Hill | -1320, -1477 | 17 | Shady Mushroom Cliffs |
| Crimson Labyrinth | -1223, -1095 | 17 | Crimson Labyrinth |
| Scorched Ashland east | -1008, -878 | 16 | Hill Entrance |
| Stone Pillar Cave | -804, -1030 | 16 | Stone Pillar Cave Entrance |
Hexolite Quartz nodes are spread evenly rather than concentrated, so unlike Pure Quartz there is no single field worth camping. Warp to Curved Redrock or Hill Entrance — both sit close to an 18- and 16-node cluster respectively — and sweep outward.
What Quartz Is Used For
| Recipe | Cost | Unlock |
|---|---|---|
| Circuit Board | 2 Pure Quartz + 1 Polymer | Technology Lv. 35 |
| Pal Metal Ingot | 4 Ore + 1 Pure Quartz + 2 Paldium Fragment | Electric Furnace, Technology Lv. 44 |
| Soralite Ingot | 2 Soralite + 2 Pure Quartz | Technology Lv. 66 |
| Hexolite | 1 Chromite + 1 Hexolite Quartz | Technology Lv. 58 |
| Pure Quartz Quarry | 70 Stone + 100 Pure Quartz + 30 Paldium Fragment + 10 Ancient Civilization Parts | Technology Lv. 52 |
| Hexolite Quartz Mine | 70 Stone + 100 Hexolite Quartz + 10 Ancient Civilization Parts | Technology Lv. 62 |
Pure Quartz is the real bottleneck of the two. Every Pal Metal Ingot costs one, and Pal Metal armour, the Katana, the Laser Rifle, the Gatling Gun and the Legendary/Ultimate Sphere lines all run through that ingot. Circuit Boards — which gate Computers, and through them the Metal Detector — take two each.
Pure Quartz also feeds several research nodes outright, including Mining Research 5 (200 Pure Quartz) and the Cooling Research chain (50–150 each). Those are large flat costs that no amount of careful crafting avoids.
Farm It Passively
Both quartz types have a dedicated base structure, and both only need Mining level 1 to operate — a much lower bar than the level 3 the field rocks demand.
- Pure Quartz Quarry (Technology Lv. 52) produces Pure Quartz continuously.
- Hexolite Quartz Mine (Technology Lv. 62) does the same for Hexolite Quartz, at roughly half the rate per unit of work.
Both cost 100 of the material they produce to build, so each needs one proper field trip to bootstrap. Do the Abandoned Ruins run once, build the Quarry, and stop going back.
Pals That Drop Quartz
This is where 1.0 changed things, and where older guides will mislead you. In the current game data the drop tables are thin:
- Pure Quartz — dropped by Pierdon Cryst (4–5 per kill). Guides that list Astegon, Jetragon or Frostallion Noct as Pure Quartz sources are describing early access; those Pals now drop other materials.
- Hexolite Quartz — dropped by Celesdir (2–3 per kill), including its Lv. 80 version.
Snow expeditions are the reliable passive source for Pure Quartz: 20–40 per successful run, 10–20 from the hard variant. Hexolite Quartz comes back from hard Feybreak expeditions at 10–20.
Server Angle
Quartz is where a group server most often stalls, because Pal Metal gear is the point at which everyone wants to be geared at once and each ingot needs a quartz. The relevant PalWorldSettings.ini values are CollectionDropRate (yield per node), CollectionObjectHpRate (6,000 HP is a lot of swings), and CollectionObjectRespawnSpeedRate (remember that a higher value means slower respawn). All three are documented in Palworld Dedicated Server World Settings Explained, and they only exist as an option if you are running your own Palworld server.
Common Questions
Is Pure Quartz the same as Quartz in Palworld?
There is no plain "Quartz" item. The game has Pure Quartz and Hexolite Quartz. When a guide says "quartz," it almost always means Pure Quartz.
Where is the best Pure Quartz farm?
The Abandoned Ruins basin at -174, 268, reached from the Unthawable Lake fast travel point. Ninety-nine nodes in one field, roughly twice the density of anywhere else.
Can you get Pure Quartz without going to the snow?
Not efficiently. Snow expeditions return 20–40 per run and Pierdon Cryst drops 4–5, but the Pure Quartz Quarry is the only real alternative — and it costs 100 Pure Quartz to build in the first place.
Where do you get Hexolite Quartz?
Only on Feybreak Island. It does not spawn anywhere on the main Palpagos Islands.
How much is quartz worth?
Pure Quartz sells for 50 Gold and Hexolite Quartz for 100. Both were raised sharply in 1.0 — Pure Quartz from 10, Hexolite Quartz from 7.
Checked against Palworld v1.0.4 (released 7 September 2026).
