Satisfactory

This guide covers installing mods on your Satisfactory server. For first boot and connecting, see Getting Started.

Satisfactory has mod support through Satisfactory Mod Manager (SMM), which uses the Satisfactory Mod Repository at ficsit.app.

Step 1: Install Mods on the Server

The cleanest workflow:

  1. Install SMM locally on your computer from ficsit.app/smm.

  2. Switch SMM to dedicated server mode and point it at your server.

  3. From SMM's UI, browse and install mods.

SMM uploads the mod files to the right folder on your server automatically.

Manual Install

If SMM is not an option:

  1. Download mod .smod (or .pak) files from ficsit.app.

  2. Upload to FactoryGame/Mods/<ModID>/ via SFTP.

  3. Restart the server.

Client-Side

Every player must install the same mods through SMM on their local client.

Lock versions to keep clients in parity

SMM has a "lock" feature to ensure version parity.

  • More Pioneers: Increase player slot count beyond vanilla limits
  • Linear Motion: Drone delivery system upgrades
  • Daisy Chain Anything: Power line chaining for any building
  • Mass Dismantle: Bulk dismantle tool
  • Mini-Map: Adds an in-game minimap
  • Modular Load Balancers: Better belt balancing
  • Pak Utility: Performance helper
  • Long Reach: Greater interaction distance
  • Refined Power: Adds new power generation methods

Game updates often break mods

Always check mod compatibility before upgrading the server's game version.
