Palworld Single Player: Why There Are No Admin Commands
Single-player and co-op worlds have no console and no admin commands. What you can change instead, and what a dedicated server gives you that they cannot.
There are no admin commands in a Palworld single-player or co-op world. There is no console to open, no /AdminPassword to type, and no cheat menu built into the game. Every command people search for — kick, ban, broadcast, teleport, save, shutdown — belongs to the dedicated server and only the dedicated server. What a solo or invite-code world gives you instead is the World Options menu, which covers most of what people actually want: XP rate, capture rate, difficulty, death penalty and day length.
Why Single Player Has No Admin Commands
This is structural rather than a feature Pocketpair forgot. Their own command reference states the gate plainly: "The AdminPassword must be set in the configuration file beforehand in order to execute the command." That configuration file is PalWorldSettings.ini, and it belongs to the dedicated server build — a world hosted from the game client never reads it. With no password stored anywhere, /AdminPassword has nothing to check against, and Pocketpair document the command set for dedicated servers only.
The same logic rules out the rest. /KickPlayer needs a connected-player table, /Shutdown a process to stop on a schedule, /Broadcast a server-side chat relay. None exist in a session your own game client hosts.
"Console commands" in Palworld are the admin chat commands
Unlike some survival games, Palworld has no second, hidden developer console. When search results talk about Palworld "console commands", they mean the admin chat commands on a dedicated server. There is no
~key, no F-key console, and nothing to enable in a config file to summon one.

| What you want to do | Single player / co-op | Dedicated server |
|---|---|---|
| Change XP, capture and gathering rates | World Options | PalWorldSettings.ini |

| Broadcast a message | No | /Broadcast |
| Teleport to or summon a player | No | /TeleportToPlayer, /TeleportToMe |
| Free-roaming spectator view | No | /ToggleSpectate |

Worked Example: Doubling XP in a Solo World
Say you want a faster solo run — double XP, double capture rate, no death penalty. There is no command for it, and you do not need one.
- From the main menu choose Start a New Game, or load your existing world and open its settings screen.
- Open the World Options screen.
- Set the EXP Rate and Pal Capture Rate sliders to 2x.
- Set Death Penalty to none, then confirm and load in.
World Options can be set when you create the world and changed afterwards from the world's own settings screen, so a choice made at creation is not permanent. Behind the scenes these are written to WorldOption.sav inside the world folder — the same settings a dedicated server keeps in PalWorldSettings.ini, stored in binary form and travelling with the world rather than with the server.
Where This Goes Wrong
- You typed
/AdminPasswordin a solo world and got "This server does not have an admin password set". Your password was not rejected — there is no password field in that build to compare it against. Nothing you type in chat fixes it. If you want the command set, you want a dedicated server. - You edited
PalWorldSettings.inifor your single-player game. A client-hosted world does not read that file. Your solo world's settings live insideWorldOption.savin the world folder, written by the World Options menu. - You moved a co-op world onto a server and your settings followed you. That is
WorldOption.savdoing its job — it overrides the server'sPalWorldSettings.iniwhile it exists. Managing your Palworld world and save files covers deleting it. - You are looking for noclip or free-cam.
/ToggleSpectateis a dedicated-server command and is not available in a client-hosted world. See Palworld Teleport Commands.
Common Questions
Can I use admin commands in Palworld single player?
No. The admin command set exists only on a dedicated server. A single-player or co-op world has no admin password, no console and no chat commands. Use World Options for rates and difficulty, and see Palworld Admin Commands & Moderation Guide for the commands a dedicated server does give you.
How do I become an admin in my own single-player world?
There is nothing to become. Admin in Palworld means "has authenticated with the server's admin password", and a client-hosted world has no admin password. You already control everything a solo world exposes, through World Options.
Are there cheat commands in Palworld solo play?
Not built in. Item spawning, Pal spawning and cheat menus in Palworld come from client-side mods — usually UE4SS-based ones — rather than from the game. How to Install Palworld Server & Client Mods covers installing them, and Pocketpair's own line is worth knowing first: "issues that occur while using MODs, or modified game data, are not covered by support".
Can I set an admin password for single player?
No. There is no field for it in the client-hosted build and no in-game command that creates one — see Palworld Admin Password for where the field actually lives.
Does co-op through an invite code count as a server?
No. The invite-code session is hosted by your game client, so it behaves exactly like single player here — no admin password, no commands, and the world ends when you stop hosting.
Can I move my solo world onto a dedicated server later?
Yes, and it is the usual upgrade path. Your world folder uploads onto a Palworld server plan and keeps your bases and Pals. Two wrinkles — pointing the server at the right folder, and remapping the host's character — are covered in Managing your Palworld world and save files.
