How to install mods for Conan Exiles

Subscribe to the Steam Workshop, upload pak files, arrange your modlist.txt, and successfully protect your server on game update days.

Conan Exiles Enhanced (Unreal Engine 5)

Funcom shipped Conan Exiles Enhanced on 5 May 2026 — a free upgrade rebuilding the game on Unreal Engine 5. Mods published before that date were built against the Unreal Engine 4 client, so check a mod's Workshop page for an Enhanced-compatible version before installing it.

Conan Exiles has a strong workshop at steamcommunity.com/app/440900/workshop/.

Step 1: Subscribe and Find IDs

For each mod, note the Workshop ID from the URL.

Step 2: Upload Mods

Conan Exiles mods are .pak files. The simplest install path:

  1. Subscribe to the mod in your local Steam.

  2. Find the mod files at Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\440900\<WorkshopID>\.

  3. Upload the .pak file to your server's ConanSandbox/Mods/ folder via SFTP.

Step 3: Add to modlist.txt

Create or edit ConanSandbox/Mods/modlist.txt:

*\ConanSandbox\Mods\Pippi.pak
*\ConanSandbox\Mods\LBPR.pak
*\ConanSandbox\Mods\AgeOfCalamitous.pak
modlist.txt

Check each mod's recommended order

The order matters; some mods need to load before others. The mod authors usually document the recommended order.

Step 4: Restart

The server loads mods on boot.

Clients need the same mods

Players must subscribe to the same mods on their client.

  • Stack Sizes Increased: Larger item stacks
  • Better Thralls: Thrall management improvements
